Allyson Felix

Allyson Michel Felix was born on November 18, 1985, in Los Angeles. Felix's father Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley, and their mother Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix's athletic talent was evident as early as the day she enrolled at Los Angeles Baptist High School. Within a short time after the first time she tried, she finished second in the 200 meter sprint during the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. In 2003 Felix finished high school and signed a professional deal with the sports organization Adidas before enrolling at the University of Southern California where she studied elementary school. Felix received her first Olympic medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics held in Athens Greece. Felix set an unofficial Junior World Record sprinting 200 meters in 22.18 seconds. Felix became the world's youngest winner in the 200m in the Helsinki World Championships and defended her title again in 2007, beating her long-time Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix placed consistently in the top 3 throughout her events in the Olympics held during Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
